White Coat Refracted

White Coat Refracted

With ivory sleeves and strands devoid of dye

Suffused with light your fabric it doth shine.

If I could strip your seams to next untie

Then would your threads tell stories that were mine?

Like light refracted yields its many hues,

Your weave unbound too cedes a hist’ry vast.

How fortunate I am to now infuse

Your essence with my own distinctive past.

It is the blending of our legacies

That to this bond imparts a mighty force.

My hope remains that ours might serve to ease

The journeys others trek upon this course.

For this alliance is not mine alone

It influences ev’ry person shown.
