Temporal Tango

Artist’s Statement:

During our anatomy course, students explored the osteology of the skull. While examining the human specimens, the phrase “Temporal Tango” emerged, inspiring the creation of this piece. The temporal bones serve as unapologetic guardians of the brain; they delineate its boundaries. Yet the mind extends beyond the physical confines—consciousness spans time, dancing across the temporal continuum. This artwork, whose modernity is expressed through its digital rendering, is encased in an antique picture frame. This contrast reflects a delicate duality: while the knowledge we acquired from the skulls was new, they themselves were old. The interplay between the old and the new is a common thread that weaves its way through the artwork and its underlying concept.
